One of the biggest marathons with mass-participation - London Marathon takes place in London annually. This city is the first one to organise the summer Olympic Games for the third time (1908, 1948, and 2012). The most popular sport in London is football and two renowned football clubs: Arsenal and Chelsea seat here.

London is situated south-east of the country on the river Thames. Thames is a tidal river and for this reason, London has always been vulnerable to flooding. As a protection against possible flooding, barriers on Thames have been construed in Woolwich.
